First China int'l private equity forum opens in Tianjin

The First China International Private Equity Forum, the first of its kind in the country, opened in northern port city of Tianjin on Wednesday.

The forum has attracted more than 200 private equity funds, intermediaries and investment companies from 17 countries such as the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Russia and Germany, organizers said.

About 1,200 Chinese enterprises have attended the forum, including those from manufacturing, information technology, real estate, retail and whole sale, energy and resource development sectors.

During the forum from Wednesday to Friday, attendees will be offered opportunity to network with potential investors and service providers.

There will also be a "speed dating" at the forum which matches target companies and potential investors for one-to-one meeting to exchange key information.

The forum was sponsored by the Tianjin municipal government, the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Association For Corporate Growth from the United States.
