Carved roses become hot item

A special rose carved with characters is a hot item in Changsha, capital of Hunan Province.

The prices of the flowers carved with the words "I love you" or "I miss you" have grown at least 30 percent compared with ordinary flowers. Most of the buyers are local young people who want to present the special flowers to their lovers during Valentine's Day and the coming lunar new year. Spurred by good sales, a florist spent more than 6,000 yuan ($800) purchasing a special seal-engraving machine earlier this year.
