A migrant worker in Dalian, Liaoning, has donated 6,400 milliliters of blood and platelets without payment since 2000.

Jiang Dejun, 44, donated blood once every half-year in the hope of helping people in need. Last week, the province's chapter of the Red Cross approved him as a volunteer donor of platelets, as well.

It was estimated that the blood he donated has been equal to the combined volume of 18 pop-top cans, each with a volume of 355 milliliters.
