A McDonald's restaurant in Shanghai has been decorated with scary themes for
the upcoming Halloween festival, but many parents worry the decorations may
scare their children.
The Shanghai-based Youth Daily reports the restaurant has placed a simulated
witch at the entrance and has painted a large spider web on the ceiling. Most
parents complain that these Halloween decorations are frightening their kids and
believe the scary themes are not appropriate for a restaurant.

Some sociologists say that although Western festivals are becoming
increasingly popular in China, the celebrations, especially decorations, should
follow local customs.
Halloween is a festival in Europe and North America and celebrated on the
night of October 31.
