Teachers wearing mini skirts are no longer allowed to enter classrooms at Shanghai Normal University, a rule that has triggered a heated debate.

The university passed the rule in March to standardize behaviours of women teachers in classrooms. It also demanded that teachers should not be late for class, not use mobile phones during class and should remind students to obey school regulations.

At the same time, many people said women teachers have the right to wear whatever they want.
