Iconic luxury brand Porsche has unveiled the newest generation of Panamera at the Guangzhou auto show, the first time the brand's enthusiasts in China can appreciate the model since its world premiere earlier this year in Germany.

Porsche said its two variants - Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo - will hit the Chinese market in the first half of 2017, and another five will follow in the same year.

The all-new Panamera, which boasts the performance of a sports car and the comfort of a luxury saloon, has refreshed people's perception of Porsche with its innovative design, brand new powertrain system and cutting-edge technology.

Porsche's first-generation Panamera made its world premiere seven years ago in Shanghai. Since then more than 150,000 units have been sold worldwide, with its sales in China accounting for 30 percent of the total.

Porsche sold more than 55,000 cars in the first 10 months of the year in China, its largest market since 2015.

Besides the all-new Panamera, Porsche is also showcasing the 550 Spyder, the first ever of the brand's mid-engine models; and the new 718 series, which is equipped with the new flat-4 turbocharged engine, at the ongoing auto show.
