China's electronics industrial output value up 4.8% in Aug

China's industrial output value of the electronics sector rose 4.8 percent year-on-year in August, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has said.

The production volume of color television sets increased by 15.1 percent in August from a year earlier across the country, with the liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions' production up 123.2 percent, the MIIT said Friday in a Website statement.

The output volume of the laptop computers hiked 42.3 percent year-on-year last month, said the ministry, without specifying the detailed figures.

China's industrial output value in the first eight months rose 8.1 percent from the same period last year, 1.1 percentage points higher than that in the first half this year.

In August alone, China's industrial output value expanded by 12.3 percent year-on-year. The growth rate was the largest since September last year when the global economic slowdown hit China.
