China's Hisense expects 7% increase in sales revenue this year

QINGDAO - Hisense Group, a leading home appliance maker in China, announced Tuesday its sales revenue will grow 7 percent year-on-year to reach 60 billion yuan ($9 billion) this year.

Zhou Xiaotian, vice president of Hisense, said white goods sales largely contributed to the increase.

Hisense Kelon Electrical Holdings Company Ltd, the air conditioner and refrigerator arm of the group, reported a total business revenue of more than 14 billion yuan in the first three quarters, up 92.7 percent from a year earlier, and a net profit of 469 million yuan, up 156.57 percent, Zhou said.

The domestic market share of Kelon's refrigerators reached 14.2 percent in the first nine months, making it second only to Haier in the sector, he said.

With two listed companies and about 60,000 employees, Hisense Group has 15 overseas production bases and sells products to over 100 countries and regions throughout the world.
