China's central bank yesterday announced that its vice governor Su Ning will succeed Xiang Junbo as director of the bank's Shanghai headquarters. Su will retain his current position as the bank's deputy head. Xiang has been transferred and will be in charge of the Agricultural Bank of China. The new director said the Shanghai head office, as an integral part of the People's Bank of China, will strive to expand its functions to help build Shanghai into an international financial center. The Shanghai headquarters was incorporated based on the former Shanghai branch in August 2005. |
