After six years of research into Mao Zedong's life and thoughts, artist Ou Jinghai completed 21 portraits that reflect Mao's changing persona over the decades, from a vigorous, patriotic young student, to a revolutionist, to a respected leader. Ou displays these paintings at his solo show to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Mao's birth. Ou graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Design (now the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University) and is the deputy editor-in-chief of the Renmin Fine Arts Publishing House.
