"Culture in Taiwan is part of Chinese culture. We urge Shen Pao-yang and those like him to find joy in doing good and wisdom in reading books," said Zhu Fenglian, a spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, in response to Shen's remarks, which she criticized as putting the cart before the horse and forgetting one's roots.
