China urges US to stop interfering in internal affairs under guise of human rights: spokesman

BEIJING -- China urges the United States to stop interfering in China's internal affairs and containing China's development under the guise of human rights, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Thursday.

Spokesman Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a daily news briefing when asked to comment on the US move to place several Chinese companies on a list of businesses over the so-called "forced labor" in Xinjiang.

China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, the spokesman said.
