On Saturday, a Yunnan province cultural and tourism promotion event was held alongside the Run for Children Luang Prabang Half Marathon in Laos, attracting numerous foreign visitors eager to explore the region's snowy mountains.

Pierre Boismard, development director at the Lao Friends Hospital for Children, said that he visited Dali, Lijiang, and Kunming in Yunnan approximately 17 years ago. The Frenchman added that his children have never seen snow since they've been living in Laos, so he plans to take them to visit the province's snowy mountains.

Thouni Seneyakone, a Lao participant in the half marathon, noted that Yunnan is one of the provinces in China she has yet to visit, but she has heard many good things about it. She added that Yulong (Jade Dragon) Snow Mountain in Lijiang is one of the destinations she is particularly eager to visit.

"Look at the mountain, the beautiful view. I hope I can join this beautiful scenery and hang out there very soon," she said.

Organized in collaboration with China Daily and RVi Group, the half marathon attracted participants of all ages and abilities. The 7 km fun run was the most popular, drawing 2,100 runners, followed by 600 participants in the 14 km race and 300 in the 21 km half marathon.
