Workers install fittings on the conductor and overhead ground wires of the Gansu-Zhejiang ±800 kilovolt ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project in Wuhu, East China's Anhui province, on Monday. Stringing has been completed on the Yangtze River crossing section of the 2,370-kilometer power line, which will run from Wuwei in Gansu province to Shaoxing in Zhejiang province and is scheduled to be fully operational in 2027. It will facilitate the transmission of clean energy from Northwest China and ease the power shortage in East China. XIAO BENXIANG/FOR CHINA DAILY
