At a plenary meeting of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly on Thursday, Fu Cong, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, called for greater participation of developing countries and small and medium-sized countries in Security Council decision-making.
He said the council should reflect international political realities, prioritize Africa's demands, and address the imbalance between the Global North and Global South, as well as the overrepresentation of developed countries.
