Vice-premier stresses need to advance global sci-tech development
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang said on Wednesday that China is ready to work with international partners to advance global scientific and technological development through mutually beneficial cooperation and ensure that the benefits of scientific and technological progress are widely shared.
Ding made the remarks in Beijing while meeting with foreign guests attending the 2026 International Science Council Midterm Members' Meeting and Beijing Science Dialogue.
Science and technology are the common wealth of humanity, and openness and cooperation are the inevitable choice for scientific and technological innovation, Ding said.
Peter Gluckman, the ISC president, and other foreign representatives expressed support for openness and cooperation, so that science can truly become a global public good and further contribute to human progress.
