The world's first deployment and retrieval system applicable in oceans of all depths, developed independently by a Chinese company, has won the event award at the ongoing China International Industry Fair, marking its innovative achievement in integrating cutting-edge technology into an industrial product.

Independently researched and developed by the Shanghai Marine Equipment Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corp Ltd, the system can operate in all oceans, regardless of area or depth, making exploration in deep-sea and polar regions possible.

The system, known as "Ji Yuan" in Chinese, represents a full product series that can operate across various ocean regions, including the Arctic and Antarctic. The deployment and retrieval system is a core piece of equipment for oceanographic research and operations. It carries out tasks such as deploying and retrieving manned and unmanned submersibles, scientific instruments, and other deep-sea gear, ranging from the ocean surface to the Mariana Trench, the deepest place on Earth.

According to the Shanghai Marine Equipment Research Institute, the system has assisted Fendouzhe, China's domestically developed manned submersible, in completing thousands of missions in various scenarios.

The system's ability to operate in both polar regions and deep-sea areas offers a unique solution compatible with all sea areas and depths.
