"I really love the robotic dog because you don't have to clean up after it!" On the sidelines of the 2026 Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges in Tianjin on Tuesday, David Gomberg, speaker pro tempore of the Oregon House of Representatives of the United States, shared his enthusiasm for China's robot dogs.

Beyond the technological novelty, he was impressed by Tianjin Port's operational efficiency and its focus on green and renewable energy. With Oregon considering building a new port, Gomberg expressed hope of learning more about what he had seen in Tianjin to encourage greater cooperation and mutual learning.
