Heavy machinery carries out track-laying operations for the Wuwei-Zhangye section of the Lanzhou-Zhangye high-speed railway in Shandan county, Zhangye, Gansu province, on Friday. The construction marks the section's transition into full track-laying phase. The section from Lanzhou to Wuwei became operational on June 29, 2024. The Wuwei to Zhangye section, with a main line length of 244.05 kilometers, is designed for a speed of 250 km per hour and serves as an integral part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network.
