Chinese mainland shares close lower
Chinese mainland stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.79 percent to 3,811.9 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.07 percent lower at 12,620.9 points.
Services sector's growth continues
China's services sector has maintained strong growth momentum this year, contributing 66.1 percent to the country's economic growth in the first half of 2026, up 5.9 percentage points from the same period a year earlier, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.
