Woodstock of Eating makes Hainan debut with week-long seaside event
Sea breezes, sunsets, and harbor views came standard over the National Day holiday as Beijing's Woodstock of Eating brought a week of shopping, music, and sports to Hainan province for the first time.
Founded in Beijing in 2015, Woodstock of Eating started as a food market and grew into a content brand linking food, lifestyle, and urban culture. Its Hainan debut drew local and off-island creator brands to the coast.
Titled "PiER NOW! Landing Party", the Oct 1 to Oct 7 event mixed an outdoor market with indoor commercial space and packed in street dance, music, running, and pet activities. Each day offered something different. A street dance competition opened the event, which was followed by running and live music on day two. A real-life cat-and-mouse chase took over indoor and outdoor spaces on Oct 3, then pet racing and meetups filled Oct 4. The back half of the week brought themed sing-alongs, pickleball, a bay sunset concert, and a Zumba party.
