In the 1950s, Vietnamese teenagers traveled to China to continue their education as war raged in their homeland. Countless people worked tirelessly to build schools, teach classes and protect these young students far from home. Their efforts helped forge a deep friendship between the Chinese and Vietnamese people as "comrades and brothers".
Today, a new generation of Vietnamese students lives and studies in China, carrying that friendship forward. Every generation has its own Long March. Earlier generations stood together through hardship; today's youth move forward hand in hand. Across mountains and rivers, China-Vietnam friendship lives on, passed from one generation to the next.
