Zang Shuo, a Beijing-based pet clothing designer, has witnessed this shift firsthand. What began as a family request to make something for their dog has grown into a business serving clients nationwide.
Now, some pet parents are so ceremonial that they order a new outfit every month. "They say, 'I promised my dog that it gets a new outfit every month,'" Zang said. "It's pretty fun."
