State Grid Zhejiang: Full power to safeguard green travel during National Day holiday

On Sept 29, as the National Day golden week approaches and travel peaks emerge across the region, State Grid Zhejiang Power Supply Company made early deployments and meticulous arrangements, organizing operation and maintenance personnel to conduct comprehensive inspections of charging piles within their jurisdictions, ensuring "full power" to guarantee worry-free green travel for new energy vehicle users.

At expressway service areas, urban commercial districts, and scenic spots, staff from State Grid Zhejiang checked the operational status of charging piles one after another, with a focus on detailed inspections of key components such as charging components, display screens, billing modules, and grounding devices, promptly eliminating potential safety hazards.

In response to the concentrated charging demand during the holiday, the operation and maintenance team also completed equipment upgrades and power optimization in advance to ensure that the charging piles welcome the travel peak in optimal condition. "The charging gun head must be tested with repeated plugging and unplugging to confirm good contact; backend data must be checked in real time to ensure accurate billing," said an on-site operation and maintenance technician while operating.

In addition to hardware inspections, State Grid Zhejiang also relies on an intelligent vehicle-network platform to conduct 24-hour online monitoring of charging facilities across the province, grasping the operational status of equipment and the utilization rate of charging piles in real time. Once any abnormality is detected, technicians are immediately dispatched for handling, achieving the goal of "every pile being in good condition and every problem being solved".

To cope with possible queuing situations for charging, State Grid Zhejiang has deployed additional guides at key stations and releases real-time information of idle charging piles through mobile devices, facilitating car owners to plan their energy replenishment routes in advance. At the same time, emergency charging equipment has been installed at various stations to provide temporary power replenishment services for car owners with urgent needs, fully ensuring "full power" on the journey. "When traveling during the National Day holiday, the biggest worry is the inconvenience of charging my car at service areas. Seeing the power technicians check all the charging piles in advance makes me feel much more at ease," said a new energy car owner who was charging his car at a service area.

The relevant person in charge of State Grid Zhejiang stated that the company will continue to guarantee the operation and maintenance of charging facilities during the holiday, safeguarding people's green travel with reliable power supply and high-quality services, and injecting a continuous stream of green momentum into Zhejiang's high-quality development.
