From screens to in-person meetings: China-US youth connect

China’s initiative to invite 50,000 young Americans for exchanges and study reached its goal ahead of schedule. More than 50,000 have visited China, getting to know the country through its culture and everyday life. China has now announced a new plan to invite 100,000 young Americans for exchanges and study over the next five years.

Meanwhile, young people on both sides of the Pacific are connecting on social media, sharing moments from their daily lives and finding common ground without preconceptions.

From screens to in-person meetings, youth exchanges are strengthening the foundations of friendship between the Chinese and American peoples.
