Shanghai's university-museum alliance

The alliance released a resource list of exhibitions, lectures and cultural activities that its member institutions will open to the public in the second half of 2026. And a bluefin tuna-cutting ceremony, featuring a 50-kilogram fish from the Mediterranean, underscored the harvest theme.

The event also highlighted the "Starfire Voyage" volunteer project. Launched by the China Maritime Museum in 2022, the project has sent nearly 1,000 student volunteers from 34 universities to deliver more than 500 maritime science events across 21 provinces and cities, reaching over 50,000 people, including children in inland areas. Volunteer leaders received certificates at the ceremony.

A "Walking Classroom" tour offered three routes covering maritime history, major maritime equipment and a special exhibition on the Communist Party of China's transportation history.
