Jiangxi province's first Token factory project was unveiled on Monday in Nanchang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, aiming to make artificial intelligence computing power and large model services more accessible and affordable for businesses and developers.

The project is jointly developed by Nanchang High-tech Investment Promotion Group Co Ltd and China Mobile's Nanchang branch.

Designed as a new type of computing infrastructure for the large model era, the factory will package underlying computing resources into standardized Token services, allowing companies to access computing power, models and AI applications on demand without having to build costly computing infrastructure themselves.

Liu Yongqiang, a member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the management committee of Nanchang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, said high computing costs and technical barriers have made it difficult for many small and medium-sized technology companies and startups to adopt AI.

The project is expected to help address that problem by pooling computing resources and providing shared services, allowing companies to devote more resources to product development and practical AI applications.

For manufacturers, the platform could support AI-powered quality inspection and process optimization, as well as the collection, labeling and training of production data. Software companies could use large models and development tools on demand to accelerate prototype testing and product iteration.

Chen Baihua, Party secretary and general manager of China Mobile's Nanchang branch, said the company has built three computing centers in Lingkong, Baishuihu and Xiaolan, with 1,892P of advanced computing capacity.

Nanchang has also built a "1-millisecond urban computing power optical network", enabling millisecond-level access to computing resources across the city.

"Companies can access computing power just as they use water and electricity — quickly, reliably and economically," Chen said.

Through China Mobile's MoMA model service platform, the Token factory will aggregate more than 300 mainstream large models and support specialized models in sectors including manufacturing, healthcare and education.

It will also provide trial Token quotas and discounted services, while supporting applications for computing power and Token subsidies. Developers will be offered application programming interfaces and sandbox environments, and businesses will receive guidance on AI applications and scenario deployment.

The project will also connect with Jiangxi's computing-power scheduling system to promote resource sharing and improve utilization efficiency.

Fu Kang, executive vice-chairman of the Jiangxi Computer Federation and director of the Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Infrastructure Center, said the computing power network addresses the question of where computing resources come from, while the Token factory focuses on how those resources can be effectively used.

The Jiangxi computing power alliance currently has 47 members from government, enterprises, universities and research institutions.

Liu said the zone will next accelerate construction of the Token factory, promote the localized deployment and adaptation of industry-specific large models, and attract companies engaged in large models, intelligent applications and data services.

The project has not yet entered operation. Construction will continue following its unveiling, with the zone aiming to bring it into service as soon as possible.
