China-US high-tech manufacturing supply chains are intertwined, and raising trade costs would hurt both economies, said former IMF deputy managing director Zhu Min, as each country uses imports from the other in production.
As the exchange of visits between the two heads of state within six months marks a historic milestone, Zhu looks forward to dialogue and sees huge room for cooperation in services and capital flows. He said that US businesses — and a growing number of US politicians — recognize the costs of high tariffs.
