Participants wait in line on Sunday to drop postcards containing their messages for peace and the future into a mailbox at an event marking the 45th International Day of Peace, which fell on Monday. The event was held at the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. Through activities such as recitations, writing peace messages and sowing seeds of peace, the participants, including representatives of inheritors of the historical memory of the Nanjing Massacre, volunteers and members of a children's choir, remembered history and prayed for peace.
