Central Japan nuclear reactor to be shut down after dripping water found: media

TOKYO -- Kansai Electric Power Co. will manually shut down the No 3 reactor at the Mihama nuclear power plant in central Japan after water was detected dripping from equipment that does not contain radioactive materials, Kyodo News reported.

No abnormal radiation levels have been observed in the surrounding environment, according to the utility and Fukui Prefecture, where the nuclear power plant is located.
