MNCs map out new opportunities in Yantai
Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, is emerging as an attractive destination for international businesses seeking new opportunities in China.
Representatives from multinational companies highlighted Yantai's potential at the Multinational Corporations Yantai Business Tour event held in Haiyang, a county-level city in Yantai, from Sept 9 to 11.
During their visit, they emphasized Yantai's diverse industrial base, well-developed industrial ecosystem and growing potential in fields including new energy, robotics, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
As one of China's first coastal cities to open to foreign trade, Yantai has attracted more than 100 Fortune Global 500 companies and was recognized by the World Bank as a "golden city" for its investment climate.
With six 100-billion-yuan ($14.8 billion) industrial clusters and more than 20 million kilowatts of clean energy capacity, the city has emerged as a strategic base for multinationals operating in China and serving global markets.
