Highlights abound at China's trade in services fair

The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) concluded in Beijing on Sept 13, reaching more than 1,200 deals, according to Xinhua News Agency last Sunday.

The five-day event featured about 200 forums, meetings and business matchmaking and promotional activities, with more than 1,830 companies participating on site, and over 5,300 companies tuned in online.

"Ninety countries, regions and international organizations set up exhibitions or held events at this year's CIFTIS, and a number of innovative technologies, products and services made their debut at the fair," Zhu Guangyao, an official from the Ministry of Commerce, told Xinhua News Agency.

The event also featured the release of several reports, presentations on cutting-edge research and discussions on the latest trends in the services trade, helping promote international exchanges and cooperation, Zhu said.

The fair produced fruitful outcomes across multiple sectors, with 103 companies and institutions unveiling 233 new products, technologies and other achievements, according to Lu Huiling, deputy head and spokesperson of the Beijing municipal commerce bureau.

"Norwegian exhibitors, representing this year's guest country of honor, signed six cooperation agreements with Chinese companies and institutions," Lu said.

The 2026 CIFTIS was held at Shougang Park in Beijing from Sept 9 to 13.
