Digital upgrades, low-carbon services and new approaches to cultural exports featured prominently among 67 service demonstration cases unveiled at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing on Friday.

The release event at Shougang Park drew nearly 300 participants from 31 countries and international organizations. This year's cases cover six areas, ranging from service trade standardization and technology applications to green innovation, services consumption, cultural creativity and support for businesses expanding overseas.

A major focus was the use of technology to solve operational problems. Selected projects apply artificial intelligence, automation and digital twins to logistics and shipping, while others support transport upgrades overseas and help Chinese railway suppliers reach international markets.

An intelligent airport baggage transfer solution, presented at a related exchange event, offered one example of how technology is being applied to everyday service tasks. Other presentations covered data labeling standards and AI tools for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Green and low-carbon services received a dedicated category for the first time, with nine cases selected. These included digitally supported recycling services and a platform that records and supports participation in carbon reduction.

Cultural and creative services also gained their own category, with five cases selected. The projects also illustrate efforts to connect cultural outreach with commercial services, alongside closer integration of culture, tourism, sports and exhibitions. Among them was the overseas performance program of the Colorful Guizhou art troupe, which brings the southwestern province's music, dance and acrobatics to international audiences.

An international matchmaking event that afternoon gave participants a closer look at how the services work. Representatives from six selected cases shared practices, including standardized labeling of spatiotemporal data, intelligent airport baggage transfer and AI services for small and medium-sized enterprises.
