Maintenance of rails to maximize safety

Chinese railway operators are addressing many hidden hazards affecting locomotive safety to ensure quality performance. At Hudong Electric Locomotive Depot in Shanxi province, autumn maintenance work has been carried out on 545 diesel and electric locomotives, comprehensively investigating any risks. Its maintenance staff focused on key points, establishing a dedicated "medical record" file for each locomotive and eliminating dangers before they become issues. It aims to fully protect the safety of railway traffic and transport by putting each reliable locomotive into efficient use.

New energy vehicle sales up in August

The dominant position of new energy vehicles in China's auto market was further consolidated in August, with NEV sales accounting for a record 60.6 percent of the monthly new car sales, industry data showed on Thursday. Last month, NEV output and sales reached over 1.65 million and 1.64 million units, respectively, both up nearly 20 percent year-on-year, said the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
