A large crane lifts and rights a 600-year-old banyan tree at the Yunshuiyao scenic area in Nanjing county, Zhangzhou, Fujian province, on Tuesday. The tree, one of the landmark "Husband-and-Wife Trees", was knocked down by heavy rainfall in recent days. Local authorities have taken measures to maintain moisture around its roots and invited forestry experts to help save the tree. Workers are racing against time to restore it, with experts saying its chances of survival are relatively good if the operation is carried out properly. HAN JIABIN/XINHUA
