Vice-premier stresses deeper cooperation with Russia in investment, energy

China stands ready to work with Russia to deepen the integration of their interests and strengthen cooperation in key areas such as investment and energy, Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang said.

Ding made the remarks on Wednesday while meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok, Russia.

Noting the broad prospects for China-Russia cooperation in developing the Russian Far East, Ding said that the two sides should further increase the scale and improve the quality of their cooperation.

Putin said Russia is ready to work with China to bring bilateral relations to a higher level.

On Thursday, Ding co-chaired the 13th meeting of the China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee in Vladivostok with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

Ding stressed the need to strengthen planning and policy guidance, and urged efforts to advance key projects and deliver tangible results.

He said that the two sides should consolidate cooperation in processing and manufacturing as well as engineering and infrastructure, while expanding practical cooperation in more areas, including green industries and the digital economy.
