Huawei's revenue up 9.55% in first half

Chinese tech giant Huawei generated 467.82 billion yuan ($69.6 billion) in revenue in the first half, up 9.55 percent year-on-year, according to the company's interim report.

New drive set to boost rail safety

Amid the country's urge to strengthen rail safety awareness, Chinese rail operators are initiating new drives to help staff enhance safe operations. To answer the call, Houma North Locomotive Depot in Shanxi province organized over 30 newly recruited employees to join small-group competitions aimed at enhancing their rail safety awareness. Consisting of three rounds (quick response, buzzer quiz and case analysis), the learning-by-competing approach showcased their theoretical knowledge as well as skills to put theory into practice for safety during flood-prone periods.
