APEC SOM3 ends as economies eye concrete outcomes at Shenzhen summit

The Third Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM3) of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2026 concluded on Friday in Dalian, Liaoning province.

Jose Alberto Guadarrama Grimaldo, Mexico's APEC senior official, noted that the 21 APEC economies are working hard to achieve positive outcomes at the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, set for November in Shenzhen.

He highlighted the benefits of free trade and regional economic integration, emphasizing the importance of a rules-based multilateral trading system.
