During the 2026 Cross-Strait Relations Seminar in Wuhan, Hubei province, Taiwan scholar Huang Ching-hsien said in an interview that the historical settings portrayed in mainland TV series, such as Pursuit of Jade, feel deeply familiar to young people in Taiwan. These shared historical and cultural memories, he noted, are almost "etched into their DNA".
