The 25th round of talks between the special representatives of China and India on the boundary question will be held in Beijing on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian announced on Monday.

Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and China's special representative on the boundary question between China and India, will co-chair the meeting with India's Special Representative and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Lin said.

The meeting between the special representatives of China and India on the boundary question is the main channel for boundary negotiations between the two countries and an important platform for the two sides to communicate on issues of mutual concern, Lin said.

In August last year, China and India successfully held the 24th Round of Talks Between the Special Representatives of China and India on the Boundary Question, during which the two sides held candid and in-depth exchange of views on the boundary question and reached a number of consensuses.

At the upcoming meeting, Lin said the two sides will, in accordance with the common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue in-depth communication on the boundary question and work together to maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas.

The two sides will also exchange views on bilateral relations, as well as international and regional issues, he added.
