Chinese vice-president meets Kuwaiti FM

BEIJING, -- Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng met with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Monday in Beijing.

Han said that under the strategic guidance of two heads of state, China-Kuwait relations have maintained a good momentum of development, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have continuously made progress in recent years, adding that China is willing to work with Kuwait to promote bilateral relations to higher level.

China stands ready to continue to make efforts for peace talks, and to make efforts in restoring peace and tranquility in the Middle East at an early date, Han added.

Jarrah said Kuwait appreciates China's support, adding that Kuwait firmly adheres to the one-China principle, highly appreciates the important role China has played in international and regional affairs, and is willing to continuously promote new prospects for Kuwait-China relations.
