Chinese company showcases robots doing home services and logistics
At the ongoing 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, X Square Robot has transformed its booth into what it called the "most general-purpose capable" exhibit at the conference, demonstrating how a unified general-purpose model drives applications across vastly different scenarios, including home services and logistics.
In the home service zone, the Shenzhen-based company's robots smoothly performed dozens of household tasks, including organizing clothes, cleaning, fetching deliveries, retrieving beverages, watering plants, and even scooping cat litter. In one interactive display, a dexterous hand powered by the company's WALL-B model unpacked a box, removed a fan, and switched it on. Another humanoid robot picked flowers of a specified color and arranged them in a vase for visitors.
These demonstrations were not staged for the conference — they were demonstrations from real household services. In March, X Square Robot partnered with 58 Daojia to launch a robotic home-cleaning service, where robots work alongside human cleaners to complete chores. This marked the industry's first large-scale deployment of robots entering home services. In May, the company further launched the "X Family Member Program," allowing robots to reside in users' homes for up to one month, providing services in continuous, real-life environments.
In the logistics zone, X Square Robot recreated a sorting production line that was globally live-streamed just weeks ago. Two robotic arms equipped with grippers autonomously sorted real, randomly assorted packages — varying in size, shape, material, and weight. The system achieved a sorting efficiency of 1,816 pieces per hour.
The hardware solution — "robotic arms + grippers" — costs 70 percent less than the "humanoid robot + five-finger dexterous hand" approach used by peers. Despite handling real, irregular packages rather than standardized boxes, the system maintained a 98 percent accuracy rate, X Square Robot said.
