China's economy will serve the world: Beijing
Amid increasing uncertainties and instability of the world economy, China will continue to offer more dividends of its market, innovation and development to the world through the country's high-quality development, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Thursday.
Lin made the remarks following some United States scholars' recent articles that refuted the so-called "China shock" and "China squeeze" narratives, saying China's trade policy is not about "beggar-thy-neighbor", but might be called "enrich-thy-neighbor".
Facts have proven that what China's development brings to the world are opportunities and empowerment rather than shock and squeeze, Lin noted.
The fair-priced products made in China has lowered the threshold of industrialization for developing countries, he said, adding that China's open-source and universally beneficial innovation has enabled more countries to access affordable cutting-edge technologies.
China's stable and reliable supply has strengthened the resilience of the global industrial and supply chains, and supports Global South countries in pursuing their paths of modernization at a faster pace, he said.
