China, Indonesia show high level of ties via key dialogues
China and Indonesia fully demonstrated the high level and strategic nature of their bilateral relations by launching the bilateral comprehensive strategic dialogue mechanism and holding the Second Ministerial Meeting of China-Indonesia Joint Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit the Republic of Korea and Indonesia from Wednesday to Saturday.
In Indonesia, Wang will chair the first Conference of China-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue Mechanism. He will also attend the Second Ministerial Meeting of China-Indonesia Joint Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue together with Defense Minister Dong Jun.
At the first meeting of the dialogue mechanism, the two sides will focus on strengthening the synergy of their development visions and explore practical measures to deepen the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, thereby supporting the modernization processes of both countries, Lin said at a daily news conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
"As major developing countries and prominent representatives of the Global South, it is of great significance for China and Indonesia to strengthen strategic communication and solidarity and cooperation," he said.
