Jordan's king to make state visit to China
At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein will kick off a weeklong state visit to China on Tuesday.
This will mark the Jordanian monarch's ninth visit to China since his accession to the throne in February 1999, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular news briefing in Beijing on Monday.
During the visit, President Xi will hold talks with King Abdullah II, exchanging their opinions on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual interest. Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, will meet with the king respectively, Lin said.
King Abdullah II is also scheduled to visit Shanghai and Shenzhen in Guangdong province, Lin added.
