Moves to ensure rail safety amid rains
Chinese railway operators have bolstered measures to better safeguard the safety of rail transport amid heavy rainfall. In Shanxi province, the Taiyuan High-Speed Railway Engineering Section strengthened manpower, physical and technical defenses to solidify such efforts. Prior to forecasted downpours, the section utilized aerial drone inspections, manual foot patrols and dynamic observations to enhance hazard identification capabilities. Post-rainfall, it sent staff to check tracks, bridges, tunnels and drainage systems, with timely repairs executed. It shifted its flood prevention from reactive measures to proactive forecasting, ensuring the safe operation of high-speed railways.
