An exhibition titled "Why Jingdezhen: The World Heritage Value and Contemporary Inheritance of Jingdezhen's Handmade Porcelain Industry Heritage" opened in Beijing on August 1. Co-hosted by the China National Arts and Crafts Museum (China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum), the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangxi Province, and the Jingdezhen Municipal People's Government, the exhibition runs through August 31.

Structured around the UNESCO framework of Outstanding Universal Value, the exhibition traces the historical continuity, technological innovation, cross-cultural exchange, and contemporary legacy of the handmade porcelain industry.

It is organized into four thematic sections: "A Millennium of Kilns", "Technical Excellence", "Exchanges and Mutual Learning", and "City-Porcelain Symbiosis". Notable exhibits include a Ming-dynasty doucai celestial-vase jar with melon-vine and dragon pattern (marked with the character tian), a Qing-dynasty green-ground pastel double-handled vase with intertwined lotus and dragon motifs, the ceramic sculpture "Dancing Peacock", a thin-walled bowl with lotus-leaf rim and butterfly-and-hundred-flower pattern, as well as a fine piece from the museum's own collection — the high-temperature color-changed powder-enamel porcelain vase "Journey to Chang'an" painted with ink-wash style.
