Cool destinations to visit in summer
• Changbai Mountain, Jilin province: Situated along the 42nd parallel north, the mountain has a forest coverage rate of 90.8 percent. Its high altitude acts as a natural cooling system, and the average temperature from June to August is 18.8 C.
• Liupanshui, Guizhou province: Located in the heart of the Wumeng Mountains, the city is known as "China's Cool City". Its high altitude creates a naturally cool climate, with an average summer temperature of 19 C.
• Zhangjiajie, Hunan province: At Tianmen Mountain, which rises to a height of more than 1,500 meters, the average summer temperature ranges from 22 C to 26 C.
• Dalian, Liaoning province: Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the city has an average summer temperature of about 25 C.
• Chengde, Hebei province: Known as a summer resort, the city has cool, humid summers, with most areas experiencing little extreme heat.
