Domestic flight fuel surcharges cut further
Chinese airlines will further cut fuel surcharges on domestic routes for tickets sold from Wednesday, following a reduction in July, according to announcements released by carriers. Under the revised standard, passengers will pay a fuel surcharge of 40 yuan ($5.89) per flight segment on routes of up to 800 kilometers, and 70 yuan on longer routes.
Yuan weakens against greenback
The central parity rate of the yuan weakened 4 pips to 6.7898 against the US dollar on Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System. In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.
