Slovak president to visit China next week
At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini will make a state visit to China from Monday to Wednesday.
During the visit, Xi will hold talks with Pellegrini to draw up a blueprint for the future development of China-Slovakia relations, and discuss bilateral ties and global and regional issues of common concern.
Premier Li Qiang and top legislator Zhao Leji will meet separately with the Slovak president, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.
Speaking at a regular news briefing on Friday, Lin expressed confidence that the visit would provide an opportunity for the two countries to further deepen their traditional friendship and political mutual trust, strengthen the alignment of their development strategies and expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
Lin added that the trip is also expected to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, as well as cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, further enriching the China-Slovakia strategic partnership.
